The Arbitration of employment law issues reflects the marriage of two concepts that could be described as "something old" and "something new". Arbitration is a concept of dispute resolution that pre-dated our traditional court system while statutory employment issues are essentially a product of the last quarter of the 20th Century. An appreciation for Employment Arbitration requires an understanding of both arbitration and statutory employment law issues. This Course will introduce the student to both of these concepts and will enhance the knowledge of the experienced practitioners in these arenas in the wake of Circuit City Stores v. Adams, 69 USLW 4195, 121 S.Ct. 1302 , 2001 WL 273205 (March 21, 2001) .
